Brittany Gayle Yearwood is a Licensed Clinician Social Work Associate from Chesapeake, Virginia. She is a holistic wellness advocate and bases her practice on treating the whole person using a combination of cognitive therapies and mindfulness-based approaches to guide clients toward their therapeutic goals.
Brittany received her Bachelor’s in Psychology from Bennett College in 2009 and earned her Master's in Social Work from Norfolk State University in 2012. She has worked in a variety of settings supporting adults, teens, children, and their families in community-based organizations specializing in underserved and high-risk populations. Brittany has always sought to empower clients by providing education and working from a person-centered approach to support them in establishing a sense of equanimity.
Brittany is eager to help clients who are motivated for growth and want support changing troubling emotions, thoughts, or behaviors. She has experience working with children as young as six years old and has counseled elders who struggle to establish and maintain healthy lifestyle habits. Brittany values the family system and welcomes systems and couples in her practice as well. She enjoys working with children, teens, and adults of any age. She treats anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, anger, general life stress, self-esteem, relationship/family conflict, parental anxiety, life transitions, grief and loss. Brittany is LGBTQ+ affirming.
When she's not in the office Brittany is usually spending quality time with her loved ones in Raleigh, NC. Before joining Mind & Body Therapeutic Connections, with the support of her husband, she dedicated seven years to providing full-time care and guidance to their four sons. She enjoys hosting mindful gatherings and recording guided meditations. She is a Level II Reiki Practitioner and Shamanic Practitioner who enjoys learning, integrating, and working with energetic modalities to promote balance and well-being. Brittany also loves to travel, dance, read, and most of all spend time in nature.
