Katherine Stein,
Yoga Teacher, RYT-500
Originally from a small village in Western Michigan, Katherine started her yoga journey nineteen years ago. She attended a yoga class at a gym in 2005 and loved how energized her body felt after the classes. She kept up a daily practice for a few years and unfortunately let it slide. Then, at age 55, Katherine’s psyche was feeling the pressure from so many different menopausal emotions that she knew she had to do something to resolve the “Monkey Mind” in her head. In January 2015, Katherine learned how to meditate. That was her first steppingstone on her yogic journey. Katherine began a daily meditation practice and soon found her mind was calmer and she was sleeping better. Incidents that would have triggered frustration and other emotions were getting easier to just let them roll past without reaction.

In 2019 she started taking regular classes again which led her to 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training. She signed up and started on the second steppingstone of her journey. Katherine earned her YTT200 in June 2020 from Yoga Unlimited Holly Springs, NC. She kept following the stones life was putting in front of her and in October 2022 earned her YTT 300-hour accreditation from the Himalayan Institute in Honeville, PA. Continuing her journey, in September 2023 she began studying with SPANDA Yoga, Princeton, NJ to earn her YTT800 to become a Yoga Therapist. This will be completed in January 2025. Katherine is also a graduate of the 2023 Masters of Wisdom & Meditation Teacher Training.

As a yoga therapist, Katherine’s areas of interest are assisting sedentary clients get comfortable moving their bodies again, helping clients cope with chronic health issues with yoga asana and meditation, and teaching clients to center themselves with meditation. She believes that yoga is a perfect way to realign the body and the mind to the spirit, and to center ourselves with a regular meditation practice. She maintains that Yoga asana and ayurvedic practices are wonderful preventatives to illness. Katherine says yoga is perfect for anyone, at any age or stage of their life.
