Kimberly is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate. She received her Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Colorado Denver. She moved to North Carolina to pursue continued higher education and graduated from North Carolina State University with a Master’s degree in Social Work. Throughout her graduate studies, Kimberly engaged in extensive training to empower and assist folks that are struggling with their own or a loved one’s substance use and she believes strongly in the tenets of harm reduction and personal resilience.
Kimberly has over 4 years of mental health experience. She has worked with many populations experiencing various mental health concerns in hospital, outpatient, and community settings. She is passionate about working with teens and adults of all ages experiencing stress, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, bipolar, schizophrenia, substance use disorders and more. She welcomes clients of all creeds and identities and works to affirm, validate, and advocate for those with minority identities surrounding sexuality, gender identity, gender expression, and more. Kimberly understands that each person is a unique and nuanced individual and will tailor her therapeutic techniques to the preferences and needs of her clients. She utilizes acceptance and commitment therapy, CBT, motivational interviewing, mindfulness techniques and a client-directed, strengths-based, trauma informed approach.
Kimberly knows that we are all experts in our own lives. She will collaborate with you to set goals and make positive changes within your own experience and at your own pace. She understands the power of human connection as well as the value in having a nonjudgmental space to process both the joys and sorrows of life and grow as a person along the way.
Kimberly deeply values the interconnectivity of physical and mental well-being and practicing at Mind & Body allows her to treat and empower the whole person in a considerate and integrative way. She looks forward to walking alongside you as you navigate change, hardships, successes, or even if you simply want an objective and empathic space to share your thoughts and feelings.
While away from the office, Kimberly enjoys taking long walks through our beautiful North Carolina wilderness, traveling (and eating!) across the globe, spending quality time with her cats, lifting weights, and roller skating. She considers herself a student of life and is always up to try something new!
